There have been shops specializing in Mini convertibles since the 1960s. Heinz had Crayford Convertibles produce 57 Mini droptops as part of a competition in 1966. Externally, the front bumper features a special multicolor blue graphic featuring the stylized number 30 created for this model. That image reappears on the side vent with the word “Seaside” in orange. A double trainer line runs from that vent to the rear. The words Seaside appeared next to the passenger again brake light, and again on the threshold with double stripes. The center caps? They say Mini. But they do have 30 graphics and a new 18-inch wheel design that is meant to be “reminiscent of the vibrating waves in the water.” Even the key gets a special edition treatment as the half fob is dark green, remade into a thalassic-themed sculpture with the word Seaside hidden behind it.
Inside the Carbon Black leather interior, Seaside shows up in orange on the sports steering wheel. Graphic 30 is embossed on the dashboard, accompanied by the words “30 years convertible” on the passenger side. And a badge with embellished graphics floor mats,
The Mini Convertible Seaside 2023 version will be available from February next year on Cooper and Cooper S, and can be selected in Nanuq White or Caribbean Aqua colors.
