No more shuffling: Adele wants you to listen to her albums in order, and Spotify agrees

Following the release of the fourth album “30”, the mix button is no longer the default option for listening to albums on Spotify – listeners will hear the songs in the order listed.

Adele is having a moment. Trust us for heartbreak - and innovation

A significant portion of users were upset by the move, with some fans criticizing Adele for asking for the default shuffle mode to be removed.

Taylor Swift has previously criticized Spotify for its free service, arguing that artists are not being paid enough royalties and pull her entire catalog off the platform in 2014 – even though she reverse the water in 2017.
However, Adele’s relationship with Spotify hasn’t always been so smooth. When she released her last album “25”, she decided avoid streaming, saying it’s “a bit of a disposable” and that “music should be an event.” The album was later added to streaming.
Last month, “Easy on Me”, lead single from “30”, Break Spotify’s record for most streamed song in just one day and broke the UK record for most live streams in a week.
