Kong stuffing idea: Chopped Doggie Liver!
We’ve discussed many times about giving your dog KONG® Dog Toys to help distract him during stressful times (like fireworks!) or to help prevent separation anxiety. These hollow toys are made to be filled with food and treats for your dog. We have a fun recipe for a mixture that makes a great side dish for KONG: chopped dog liver!
Unlike traditional chopped liver, chopped liver has NO onions (remember: onions are toxic to dogs and should never be included in their food or treats.)
You can use it as “glue” in stuffed toys such as the KONG, add it to vegetable mixes or your dog’s favorite treats, or layer your ingredients, placing chopped liver in the bottom of the treat. play, add veggies or puree them, then top the toy with chopped liver so everything doesn’t spill out!
How to make this KONG filler
Our chopped liver recipe for dogs is super, super simple to make and our dogs love it.
(Don’t use KONG? You can also serve a spoonful as a treat or add a spoonful at the beginning of a meal to encourage lazy eaters.)
