No compromise: BMW M1000R debuts with 205hp to touch

That feat has been achieved by ditching the four-cylinder engine found on the M1000RR superbike in favor of a street-focused variant, meaning the M1000R boasts an extra 2,600 rpm over the current S1000R offering. in.

This means that the air ducts have been reworked for the BMW M1000R and, of course, the winglets have been bolted to the side of the machine’s chassis to help reduce extra power on the ground.

Use its ShiftCam changeable loading timeBMW claims that the M1000R still offers plenty of lows in the rev range (roughly the same as the current S1000R street bike), with a peak torque figure of 83 lbs • ft (same as the BMW M1000RR / S1000RR). ).

A new titanium exhaust can help keep the weight figure low, while BMW Motorrad offers a curb weight of 439 lbs.

The usual set of electronics that come with the 2023 BMW M1000R, includes an up/down quickshifter, five driving modes (including three Race Pro modes), traction control, wheel control, launch control, uphill launch and speed limiter on tunnel lanes.

As one would expect in this segment, the suspension is semi-active and linked to the steering modes for throttle mapping. A rear-wheel sliding system has also been added to the ABS package, something that is appearing more in the superbike/streetfighter segment.

Forged aluminum wheels are standard on the M1000R, although one can easily upgrade to standard carbon fiber pieces on the M1000RR superbike.
