This deal is only available to new Costco members or those whose membership has been expired for more than 18 months. It’s also only available to customers in the US and Puerto Rico. While you can purchase up to two memberships, there’s a limit of one membership per household — so you can keep one membership and gift the other. (However, you can get an additional card for a member of the same household over 18 years old.)
I purchased this Costco deal myself in November 2023 and can vouch for it. The redemption process is easy: You purchase and redeem your membership online, and pick up your card at any Costco warehouse at the customer service counter (just be prepared to take a photo of your card yours, which I don’t do). To receive a $40 gift card, enter your email at the time of redemption. My gift card was emailed within two weeks and I had the option to scan it on my phone or print it out to use in store or online.

Costco members can find everything from groceries, home essentials, electronics to pharmacies, etc. Members will also receive savings on Costco Services, including Stations. Costco gas and Costco Tire Centers, as well as other services that can connect you with auto and home insurance, pet insurance and identity protection. Costco also offers travel deals, including vacation packages and cruises.
