Aniplex uploaded a new trailer for the upcoming season NieR Automata This time focus on Bunker. Earlier, it highlighted how 2B and 9S will appear in their animated debut. The Bunker trailer mainly focuses on the Commander, with Chiaki Kano reprise her role. Although they themselves do not appear in the trailer, the cast list includes Operator 6O and 21O.
The anime’s official website has also been updated with some works featuring the Commander and several Moderators.
Keiko Isobe will return as 6O Operator, and Meari Hatsumi will also return to her role as the 21O Operator. 6O and 21O Operators can be in the promo art of Bunker units, standing next to the Commander. However, since there are so many similar Executive units from the game, it’s hard to say for sure.
In one conversation with anime director Ryouji Masuyama and game director/writer Yoko Taro, they came up with some hints for the story. According to Yoko Taro, the reason why the anime is called NieR Automata Ver 1.1a is because it will diverge from the original plot. This is because NieR AutomataThe base story is based on the game vehicle, which would be difficult to convey in an anime format. This will also give veterans of the game a chance to experience a new story.
NieR Automata originally launched in 2017 for PS4, with PlatinumGames as developer. This is an ARPG that follows 2B and 9S, who are android soldiers in a proxy war between aliens and humans. Yoko Taro has written stories that deal with topics such as existentialism. One Nintendo Switch version launches in early October 2022, with several Switch-specific skins.
NieR Automata currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. The anime version will premiere in January 2023.
