Multi-talented person Colin de Grandhomme The Black Caps said on Monday they have been ruled out for the rest of the New Zealand-England series due to a heel injury. After the 35-year-old hit the ball just 3.5 times in England’s second half on the first test, the scan revealed a tear in his right heel. New Zealand lost the Test at the Lord by five shots on Sunday to a 1-0 lead in a three-match series.

Coach Gary Stead said de Grandhomme will need 10 to 12 weeks to recover.

“It’s a shame for Colin to suffer this injury so early in the series,” Stead said.

“He was a big part of our Test faction and we will certainly miss him.”

De Grandhomme will be replaced on the team by 31-year-old Michael Bracewell, who was on the team for the First Test as a cover for Henry Nichols.

“It’s great to be able to call someone like Michael who has been with the team for the past month and is ready for the game.”
