Malaysia will soon welcome another Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand called Neta. A brand under Hozon Auto, Neta currently offers three models in its home market, which are Neta S, Neta U-II (successor of Neta U) and Neta V.
Out of the three, only the Neta V crossover is described on Neta Auto Malaysia website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). The EV was first introduced in 2020 and runs on the same HPC platform used by the Neta U-II. IN ThailandThe Neta V has a 38.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor that produces 95 PS (94 hp or 70 kW) and 150 Nm of torque.
Offering a range of 384 km according to the NEDC standard (WLTP figures are usually around 20% lower), this model is more suitable for city driving with a top speed of 101 km/h and uptime 0-50 km/h is 3.9 seconds.
For charging, the Neta V can accept a maximum AC input (Type 2) of 6.6 kW, with a full charge taking eight hours. There is also DC fast charging at up to 100 kW, which takes the battery from a 30-80% state in just 30 minutes, while the truck system (V2L) generates up to 3.3 kW of power to supply source for external accessories.
If you are curious about the dimensions, the Neta V measures 4,070 mm long, 1,690 mm wide, 1,540 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,420 mm. For some context, the current Toyota Yaris on sale in Malaysia is 4,140 mm long, 1,730 mm wide, 1,475 mm tall and has a stretched wheelbase of 2,550 mm.
Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights (halogen headlamps), LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, keyless entry with Ride & Go system, instrument panel 12-inch digital, cruise control, electronic parking brake 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with reversing camera and 6 speakers, synthetic leather seats, 4-way power front seats and 2 bags gas.
No driver assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking are offered, although automatic brake hold, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitors and passive cruise control are available. conventional passive safety systems. Standing above the Neta V is the Neta U-II, another larger crossover with a length of 4,549 mm, a width of 1,860 mm, a height of 1,628 mm and a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. This comes with two electric motor outputs, with the smaller versions delivering 163 PS (161 hp or 120 kW) and 210 Nm, while the more powerful option offers up to 231 PS (228 hp). or 170 kW) and 310 Nm – according to China specifications.
Battery capacity ranges from 54.32 to 81.57 kWh, providing a range of 401 to 610 km according to CLTC standards. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist are available for the Neta U-II, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 system-on-chip (SoC) power these functions.
Last but not least is the Neta S, which is the first product to be built on the company’s Shanhai platform. Unveiled at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show, the Neta S is a sedan with front wings and a sleek body with dimensions of 4,980 mm long, 1,980 mm wide, 1,450 mm high and 2,980 mm wheelbase.
Battery capacity for the Neta S ranges from 43.51 to 91 kWh, with an operating range of 310 km to 715 km. Under specific conditions, the Neta S is even touted to offer a range of up to 1,160 km on a full charge – these figures again follow the CLTC standard.
As for powertrain, the Neta S can be selected with a rear-mounted electric motor of 231 PS (228 hp or 170 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, or all-wheel drive with an additional motor. second power at the back. return with the same output. As it is the brand’s flagship model, it has a plethora of sensors to enable a high degree of near-autonomous driving.
As for pricing, the Neta U-II retails for between 135,800 and 165,800 yuan (RM87,746 and RM 107,130) in China. The Neta S is more expensive and starts at a limited-time introductory price of 179,800 yuan (RM116,454) and goes all the way up to 341,800 yuan (RM220,869). While the price of the Neta V in Thailand has been mentioned above, in China the model is sold for between 83,800 and 96,900 yuan (RM54,152 and RM62,617).
