NASA’s James Webb telescope shares ravishing images of Jupiter

NASA’s James Webb Telescope has shared a ravishing photo that shows Jupiter in the darkness of space.

NASA The James Webb Space Telescope has only just started operating a few weeks back into space, and in this short span of time, the most powerful telescope in the world. The universe didn’t miss a chance to surprise we. A few days ago, the James Webb Telescope discovered the oldest galaxy, and now the new NASA telescope has studied the planets in our solar system on its own. And now, NASA has released the latest image of the James Webb Telescope – an enchanting Jupiter.

Previously, NASA released some early images of Jupiter taken by telescopes on July 14. But. telescope went on to revisit the planet to share more raw images, showing the largest planet in solar system to glow in the darkness of deep space. Raw new black and white image of Jupiter captured by the telescope’s Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) instrument on July 27, highlighting the planet’s unique features.

James Webb Telescope captures Jupiter

New images shared of Jupiter by the James Webb Telescope highlight the planet’s massive storm, the Great Red Spot, as well as bands in the planet’s atmosphere. The images and observations captured by the NASA telescope are intended to help scientists understand the structure and thermal layer of the atmosphere and planet to study phenomena such as winds and the aurora borealis.

As reported by Space.com, the photo is the result of Webb’s NIRCam focusing on Jupiter for nearly 11 minutes using the F212N filter, which observes light with a wavelength of 2.12 microns, roughly the length of a common bacterium. The report also adds that based on the preliminary schedule of Telescope operator James Webb, Institute of Space Telescope Science, next week NASA’s telescope will target the moon. Jupiter’s volcano Io, the large asteroid Hygeia, and the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A. That means, you can expect more dramatic images of the depths of space in the near future.
