My experience as an investigator

Ariel Nessel, an American philanthropist and entrepreneur, is a firm believer in the power of humans to create a kinder world. He has supported the mission of Animal Equality for many years and has joined the organization in several investigations in Mexico and India to document the cruelty of the livestock farming industry and raise awareness. awareness of the suffering caused by industrial livestock and slaughterhouses.

The testimony of Ariel Nessel

My name is Ariel Nessel and I am an Animal Equality advocate, just like you.

I experienced what investigators face every day when I went with them inside some of the farms, animal markets and slaughterhouses in India.

You may wonder why I decided to venture into such horrible places.

The reason is simple: I feel that I have to see it for myself to really understand it. I know that once I witness with my own eyes what animals are forced to endure, this personal experience will follow me for the rest of my life and I will never stop fighting for them.

In my years of supporting Animal Equality’s work, I’ve watched some of their investigations.

But nothing could prepare me for what I witnessed in India in those days: what it meant to stand next to countless animals that were suffering to death without being able to do anything about it. save them.

As a mindfulness practitioner, I have always looked to India as an inspiration.

After all, this country is the source of vegetarianism and where most religions teach the practice of Ahimsa, which means non-violence towards all sentient beings. This principle has guided my life for many years.

That’s why the scene that affected me the most was on a dairy farm.

I remember walking into a small barn and seeing a calf. It was only 14 days old, thin and scared. He was tied up alone and couldn’t move. His innocent eyes were filled with pain and sadness.

It’s heartbreaking to see a newborn being separated from its mother and any other form of warmth like that. I don’t understand why they left him there, without food and water, and then slowly died.

And that’s when I learned something really disturbing.

Since male calves do not produce milk, a few minutes after they are born, they are tied up and starved to death. I was very appalled.

How could it happen that a country that taught me – and many others – so much about compassion, fell victim to such a cruel industry?

But it’s not just India. Every year, 72 billion land animals and 1.2 trillion aquatic animals are locked up and killed for food worldwide. And although the way it’s done varies from country to country, The suffering this industry causes to animals is the same.

Extreme incarceration, mother-child separation, painful mutilation, and carnage are no less painful when practiced in the United States or the United Kingdom.

Livestock farming is one of the most evil and powerful industries in the world, with billions of dollars being dealt with–but it’s not unbeatable.

Thanks to organizations like Animal Equality, people around the world are opening their eyes and getting rid of the lies they’ve been stuffed with for years. That’s how change is made.

And if you are here, reading my email, you are one of those people who want to create a better world for yourself and future generations to live in.

To date, Animal Equality has published more than 100 surveys on more than 800 farms and slaughterhouses in 14 countries around the world, creating lasting and meaningful change for animals. I am honored to be a part of this movement, doing this work with you at our side.

And while it has been an honor to accompany them on one of their investigations, my experience in India has also given me insight into the lives of the courageous individuals who worked to uncover the truth. bare animal abuse.

I’m talking about investigators who, despite having witnessed animal suffering countless times, keep coming back.

Do you know why?

They’ve made it their mission to tell the stories of these animals to the world, so they’re not innumerable, countless, nameless creatures, but individuals with lives and important emotions.

I call them ‘kind warriors’ because what they are fighting is a real battle: a battle for justice, for a kinder world. That’s the battle you and I decided to fight side by side with them.

But they need and deserve our support. Although we cannot be with them in farms and slaughterhouses, We can make sure to give them the resources they need to show the world what they find and inspire tomorrow’s change.. Their hard work and the suffering of the millions of animals they filmed were not in vain.

That’s why I’m asking you to support them and their bravery by donating to Animal Equality today. There has never been a better time to do so, like right now all donations received are matched by an anonymous donor at no extra cost to you.

There is a wondrous, mystical law of nature that the three things we most desire in life – happiness, freedom, and inner peace – are always achieved by giving them to others.

Thank you for being a part of this philanthropic movement,

Who is Ariel Nessel?

Ariel Nessel is an American philanthropist and entrepreneur who firmly believes that human kindness is the most powerful resource for building a kinder and more compassionate world.

He has supported our work and mission for many years and because of this, he has participated in Animal Equality in a number of investigations in Mexico and India. Record what happens behind closed doors of farms and slaughterhouses and testify to the suffering caused by livestock farming.

Ariel has witnessed firsthand the suffering of farm animals. He was shocked to see that a country that had always had so much to teach about compassion and kindness fell victim to a cruel system where there was no room for empathy or mercy.

Visiting these places brings me deep gratitude to the investigators. At one point, our safety was in jeopardy, and I realized that these investigators had to go through this almost every day.
