More affordable hybrid vehicle joins GWM Haval Jolion 2023 lineup
Cost of joining a new place GWM Haval Jolion hybrid has just been downgraded, with the brand announcing a new Lux variant of its electrified SUV.
Price at $36,990 drive away, it’s $3000 less than the Jolion Ultra Hybrid. Order books are open and the first shipments are starting to arrive, and GWM says it will be in showrooms in the “next few weeks”.
Externally, it is indistinguishable from the Ultra Hybrid other than the lack of a panoramic sunroof.
It shares the front end of the more expensive hybrid model, includes a special hybrid-only grille and blue headlamp surrounds, and uses the same set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
That’s even though the Jolion Lux doesn’t ride on 17s smaller than the Ultra.
The Jolion Lux Hybrid, on the other hand, has the same list of features as its petrol version.
That means it ditches the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charger, head-up display and panoramic sunroof.
Color options are the same as the Ultra Hybrid and include:
- White Hamilton
- Smoke Gray
- black gold
- blue glacier
- Blue
- red mars
Naturally, the Lux Hybrid has the same powertrain as the Ultra Hybrid, which includes a 1.5 liter gasoline enginecombined with what Haval calls a Dedicated Hybrid Gearbox (DHT) consisting of an electric motor and transmission.
The maximum combined power is 139kWand the maximum combined torque is 375Nm.
It’s front-wheel drive and uses a statement 5.0 liters per 100 km on the mixed cycle. The Toyota RAV4 2WD hybrid uses 4.7L/100km on the combined cycle, while Hybrid Kia Niro uses a claimed 4.0L/100km.
GWM is busy expanding the Haval Jolion range.
Super hybrid late last yearand then next is the sportier S features a more powerful version of the standard car’s turbocharged 1.5-liter engine plus a multi-link rear suspension.
