Anyone here with fond memories of Peugeot 207 Sedan? If that’s you, then this one might interest you. Celebrate the latest creation of Theophilus Chin, the Peugeot 208 Sedan.
Needless to say, this car – finished in 208New Elixir Red pearl paint – not officially available. But if that happens, the B-segment sedan will be on par with the Toyota Vios, Honda City, Mazda 2 Sedan and Proton Persona.
To start, Theo used the rear half of a Fiat Cronos, tweaked the window and shutter lines, and made sure to retain the hatch’s original sculpted rear fender. He’s also tweaked the rear spoiler and shoulder contour, while keeping the full-width glossy black paneling on the rear doors.
The LED-combined taillights have a sharper look here than the curve lights on the hatch, and the rear bumper is largely based on the Cronos. It rides on the same set of two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, complete with screw-in windscreens.
In a nutshell, the 208 is powered by a 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder engine with outputs ranging from 75 PS to 130 PS, depending on the variant. A five- or six-speed manual is available, although the highest-end models will have an eight-speed automatic option. A six-speed automatic can also be specified in other markets.
Prefer the full electric e-208 instead? That model is powered by a single electric motor that makes 136 PS and 260 Nm of torque, which is good enough for a century-old surf time of 8.1 seconds. The 50 kWh battery is located under the floor (without compromising on cabin and trunk space), providing a healthy range of up to 340 km. It can take up to 11 kW AC charging or 100 kW DC fast charging.
