Famitsu has announced the winners of the 2021 Famitsu Dengeki Game Award. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise won Game of the Year in this award presentation. Masahiro Sakurai, creator Kirby and Super Smash Bros. received the MVC – Most Valuable Creator Award.
Votes from the Japanese public have determined the candidates nominated for this award presentation. The event also includes more awards honoring titles not included in the list of nominees. Famitsu and Dengeki presented the Special Award to Encode, Dungeon Explorerand Fantasian. Magical Lovely, the Japanese comedian group that hosts the live event, has given out its own award for the mobile game Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.

Winner of Game of the Year in the 2021 Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards, Monster Hunter Rise, available on Nintendo Switch and PC. Capcom will release Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak on the same platforms in Summer 2022. The company will reveal more details about the expansion with broadcast digital events on March 15, 2022.
