Mercedes marks 55 years of AMG tuning house with a super hot upgrade
What do you usually do to celebrate your birthday? Maybe a cake, a drink with friends or a nice dinner if you’re feeling up for it? Good, that’s not how Mercedes is marking 55th anniversary of the founding of the AMG division. Instead, the company is making limited edition performance cars like there’s no tomorrow!
First, there’s a limited edition variant of the G-Class, with more AMG logos than you can shake. There are also 22-inch wheels, chrome details all over the car and a host of other styling tweaks. At that time, the three-pointed star hinted that many birthday surprises were still to come.
And now, we have found out what they have prepared to mark the event. It’s clear that a limited run A Class car emblazoned with all the AMG . logos to sink a ship.
Based on the A35 Compact Saloon, Saloon and Shooting Brake models, the new Edition 55 cars have the same level of glitz and glamor that Mercedes has treated with its G-Class in a much more modest package.
Mercedes is on display Update the latest AMG styling on the A35 Shooting Brake that you see in the picture here. While the traditional A Class hatch starts at €28,000 (about $30,000), the Mercedes-AMG A35 Edition 55 starts at €41,000, around $44,000 and pretty much for the money.

Trimming!
Has a 20-inch cutting deck, good manoeuvrability, and an excellent cutting capacity to make it ideal for your average lawn.
And in your $40,000 hatchback, Mercedes has fully loaded AMG niceties. First, there’s an updated package that adds an extended front splitter, a fixed rear wing and a propeller-shaped diffuser. The company says these adjustments are all made to “improve driving characteristics at high speeds”.
Something called the AMG Night Package has also been added to turn most of the exterior details black. This includes a glossy black splitter, side sills, window trim, exterior mirror housings and exhaust trim, and the windows are now fitted with dark tinted glass.
There are also some nice looking 19-inch AMG 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, a chrome bonnet and a black and red interior decorated with the AMG logo and “Edition 55” badges. It’s all very beautiful and I’m sure many will buy it.
But AMG is the tuning house of Mercedesand for 55 years has been producing crackpots that are too efficient for the average person to drive.
And one thing that I missed a lot Mercedes Latest car launch is any mention of a performance update for the latest vehicle to come from AMG.
Remember the 300CE 6.0 AMG of 1988, the SL73 AMG of the 90s and SL65 AMG Black Series since 2008. All tuners Mercedes has packed the performance to match all the quite aerodynamically well-equipped AMG exteriors.
So while the A35 Edition 55 looks very, very This amazing, limited edition, anniversary, conquest from the best brains in Germany could certainly have done a little more.
If Mercedes had more The planned AMG celebrations, I hope they will come with bites to match the case of the A35 Edition 55. Just a few stickers and a shiny side cover instead.
