Masters 2024 prize money, purse: Payouts, winnings for each golfer from $20 million fund at Augusta National
A lot of green will be on offer at the 2024 Masters on Sunday — not just in the form of the famous jacket awarded to the winner of this year’s tournament but also in regards to the prize money paid from the total record-setting fund. Augusta National Golf Club announced Saturday that the 2024 Masters will have a total purse of $20 million. This marks a new $2 million tournament and the largest prize money awarded to players at one of the nation’s most pristine locations.
The eventual Masters champion will take home $3.6 million – $360,000 more than 2023 champion Jon Rahm – marking another significant year-over-year increase. The runner-up will receive $2.16 million, greater than the amount Danny Willett (2016) or Jordan Spieth (2015) earned when winning the green jacket.
The eventual recipient of the green jacket won’t be the only player to receive a significant green jacket over the weekend. In fact, everyone in the top 3 will take home a seven-figure salary, while those in the top 11 will get at least $500,000 deposited into their bank accounts. Attractive payouts trickled down the leaderboard as every golfer in the top 36 walked away from Augusta National with six figures.
Those lucky enough to make the list but not lucky enough to make the top 50 will still receive compensation, although the amount will tend to decrease from the $50,400 awarded to players. eventually finishing in 50th place.
