Manipal hospitals continue to digitize with Fujifilm’s PACS



Manipal Hospitals, one of India’s largest hospital chains, has signed a long-term partnership with Fujifilm India for large-scale deployment of PACS.

Based on their agreement, Fujifilm’s RICS PACS will be deployed at 23 hospitals and 45 telemedicine radiology facilities under the Manipal Hospital network across India.

The scalable system, which includes three million studies per year, is now available to radiology and cardiology specialties.

According to a press release, PACS powered by Fujifilm eliminates the need to manually store, retrieve, and send sensitive information, movies, and reports. It also allows the storage of medical documents and images in secure servers off-site while ensuring secure access to those sensitive records from anywhere.

For patients, the system will allow them to access digital reports “on-demand” and receive diagnoses from their preferred Manipal Hospital radiologists and cardiologists anywhere. anywhere in the country.

In a comment, Dr Dilip Jose, CEO of Manipal Hospital, said that their partnership with Fujifilm for interoperability will “accelerate our progress towards digitization.”

Hospital chain, serving more than 4.5 million patients annually in 28 hospitalshas digitized its assets and processes over the years to deliver high quality care and expand its reach across India, targeting underserved communities in lower level cities.

In November, it mined Google Cloud to implement Amwell’s telehealth platform to enable virtual visits. Manipal hospitals are also now using Google Cloud’s conversational AI tools to book appointments and search for doctors.

Their partnership also aims to create a digital platform to order medications and build the ability to monitor patients remotely.

In an effort to promote remote health monitoring, Manipal Hospital sought a partnership last year, one of which was with a UK-based company. Isansys Lifecare for the wireless deployment of the Patient Condition Tool to continuously monitor the condition of critically ill patients leaving the ICU. Singapore medical technology company ConnectedLife has also provided its virtual platform at Manipal Hospital to support remote monitoring of a patient’s post-operative condition.
