“At first I didn’t give her much of a chance to recover, she was very poor clearing the ball in the back of the court,” Pletcher said.
“I thought for a moment (Alpha Bella) would save the day and then suddenly Cairo Consort suddenly appeared out of nowhere. A very good effort by both fillings.”
Cairo Consort, formerly coached by Nathan Squires, won Catch a Glimpse Stakes in her equity debut and placed second in Natalma (G1T) Shares last summer, both on Honeysuckle on the pitch, before finishing third with a score of 19-1 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T). After that effort, she made $875,000 at the November Sale, Fasig-Tipton’s livestock stock sale in Lexington, and joined Pletcher’s stable.
3 year old daughter of Prince Cairo bred in Kentucky by Frankfort Park Farm and is the third foal from the absolutely amazing Street Cry mare. She was the first bet winner produced by Absolute Awesome, whose three starters were all winners.
