lucid had lofty goals for 2022. It originally planned to produce 20,000 vehicles during the year. However, due to supply chain issues and parts shortages, it had to reduce its target to between 12,000 and 14,000, and then again from 6,000 to 7,000 units. In the end, though, lucid finally beat that annual guide.
car manufacturer speak they built 7,180 vehicles by 2022 and delivered 4,369 of them. During the October-December period, the automaker produced 3,493 vehicles (up 53% from the previous quarter) and delivered 1,932 vehicles. The company started offering the clean Air in Europe in December.
We’ll learn more about what this means for Lucid’s bottom line when the company releases its fourth-quarter financial results on Feb. 22. In any case, beating the yearly guidance, even after when it cuts its target significantly, is a positive sign that the automaker is fixing its production problems. Meanwhile, Lucid will soon start accepting pre-orders for Gravity electric SUVwith deliveries expected to begin in the US and Canada in 2024.
