Longtime New Jersey rancher Fleming dies at 84


Mildred “Millie” Fleming, a longtime New Jersey breeder and past president of the Thoroughbred Breeders Association of New Jersey, died on February 4, aged 84.

Mildred is well known throughout the New Jersey horse industry. She has bred Thoroughbred Horses for nearly 50 years and is the recipient of the Virgil “Buddy” Raines Award in 2022. She served two terms as President of the New Thoroughbred Breeders Association of New York. Jersey and also served as a board member prior to his presidency. She has shared her passion for Thoroughbreds with her husband, Larry, and has bred and races exclusively NJ crossbred horses.
