Healthy game hosted a showcase of new indie games tonight and the litter’s pick was Little Kitty, Big City. It’s a game about exploring a (big) city as a (small) kitten and doing cat things in general. See the trailer below.
This is pure fun:
Hair! The animations! Hat! I love the whole thing, but especially I like that it seems to be a game where you as a cat behave like a cat. I lamented when I wrote about Lost earlier this year, someone else took a third angle, that it sounded more like a cat than a cat with a gun being stuck in the game Tomb Raider.
In contrast, the Little Kitty, Big City movie trailer is all about cats. I really want to cuddle like a cat, knock things off walls, get into places I don’t belong, put on funny hats, and pounce on birds.
LKBC is the debut game from Double Dagger, a new studio founded by Valve veteran Matt T. Wood. It is also being developed by Pip! If you’re new here, Pip is Philippa Warr (RPS in peace) who previously wrote the puzzle A Monster’s Expedition and – revealed – previously worked for RPS. Not much else is known about the project at this stage, although it’s up Steam No predicted release date.
While Little Kitty is my favorite, there were plenty of games that looked adorable during the Healthy Snacks broadcast. You can watch the full stream here:
