KTM announces ‘Ekspres Khas Keluarga Malaysia’ train to East Coast, adding 4,368 ETS tickets for Raya


KTM has announced the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ special train service to the East Coast and additional ETS services for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

The Ekspres Khas Keluarga Malaysia line will operate on April 29. The train will depart from KL Sentral at 11pm and arrive at Tumpat in Kelantan at 3.5pm the next day. It will stop at 17 stations along the way, including Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Nilai, Seremban, Pulau Sebang, Mentakab, Jerantut, Gua Musang and Pasir Mas, among others.

The return trip will take place on May 7, leaving Tumpat at 10:50pm and arriving at KL Sentral at 3:44pm the next day. There are a total of 516 tickets for this special service and prices start from RM55.

An initiative of the transport ministry and KTM with the slogan “Maghi Kelik Kampung”, to provide a safe, comfortable and cost-effective alternative for this year balik kampung trip.

“Usually, every time there is a celebration, especially for Aidilfitri, people coming from the East Coast will have to deal with traffic jams. This year, we expect a big increase in traffic as it’s been two years since people haven’t been home in Raya. As such, with this service, it will reduce congestion and promise safety and comfort for Keluarga Malaysia,” said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.

KTM says that Ekspres Khas Keluarga Malaysia will have a sleeper coach (120 beds), a premium and premium seating coach, a buffet trainer and a “chillax coach” for solat or multiple gatherings. than. Tickets will be on sale from tomorrow (12:15, April 15), one-way fares from RM55 to RM83. There will be a small souvenir for passengers.

Separately, KTM will have two more ETS services providing 4,368 tickets for the Raya season. This is the line for the KL Sentral – Padang Besar line and will run from April 29 to May 2 and May 6 to May 6. This is as strong demand has seen regular tickets being sold. Sold out. These additional tickets will go on sale tomorrow on KTMB’s mobile app (KITS) and website.
