It’s been a long time since the fighting world has seen Keith Thurman in action. In fact, it’s been more than two years. That’s a long stretch of layoffs, even by Thurman’s standards – however, to be fair, the Covid pandemic hasn’t helped. Now, however, the man will be back in action on February 5, when he will headline the Premiere Boxing Champion’s pay-per-view card against Mario Barios. “In 2022, I will remind the boxing world that Keith Thurman is an unforgettable fighter,” Thurman posted on social media Wednesday. “I’m back and ready to fight!”
A video released on FightHub on Tuesday shows the skinny and sweaty Thurman banging into a heavy bag while wearing a vest. “Only fifteen laps, honey,” he said afterwards and winked at the camera. “Just had this drip,” he added, referring to his drenched T-shirt. “It’s good when you fight the fans. Just because of you.” Needless to say, the man seemed to be working hard. However, hard work has never been an issue for Thurman. He’s only lost once, and that’s it. Legendary Manny Pacquiao Furthermore, he’s surpassed top names like Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter.As far as fans are concerned, the problem with Thurman is lack of activity.
In fact, the boxer known as “One Time” is now entering his thirties. Also worth noting is that Thurman has only fought four times in the last five years. Despite the inevitability of Covid and injury, some have wondered how much Thurman really cares about fighting games at this point in his career. Anyway, he makes a lot of money and is already a world player. Countless boxers have proven that it’s hard to stay hungry once true success is achieved.
However, Thurman wants the public to know that he is back and still an outstanding weight class. If he performs well against Barios, whose only defeat was against Gervonta Davis’ gangster punch, a bout with a boxer named Spence, Crawford or Ugas could be for Thurman. If he looks tired in February, or if he is truly lost, much of the light surrounding Thurman’s lucrative name may disappear. Barios may not be considered a big-name competitor, but Thurman has a lot going for this upcoming fight. Recent evidence indicates that it may be something Floridian is very interested in.
