Kansas City Chiefs start LB Willie Gay suspended for four games


KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chief pavers Willie Gay received a four-match suspension by the NFL for violating the league’s individual conduct policy.

Gay arrested in January in Overland Park, Kansas, for less than $1,000 in property damage, a misdemeanor.

Gay suspension will begin immediately. He will miss matches with Colts, Buccaneers, Raiders and Receipt and qualified to return from the Week 6 game against Buffalo.

Gay agreed over the summer to join a diversion program to solve the criminal case.

For the next two weeks, according to NFL regulations, Gay was barred from entering the Chiefs’ practice facility or having any contact with team officials. After two weeks, he can enter the team facility and attend team meetings.

Gay has started both games for captain this season and is second on the team for tackles with 16. He’s also placed at the top of the team in tackles lost (2) and lanes. defensive pass (2).

Nick Bolton was the Chiefs’ other starting player as Kansas City opened a nickel defense against Amount and Charger in the first two games.

The chiefs drafted a paver, Leo Chenal, in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Chenal has played 32 of 137 saves this season, the third most on the team at full-back. The Chiefs’ other supporters are veterans Elijah Lee and Darius Harriswho played mainly in special teams and untrained rookies Jack Cochrane.
