Lomachenko thought GGG had “problems with his health” before fighting Canelo
Vasiliy Lomachenko gave his opinion on the Canelo Alvarez vs Gennadiy Golovkin trilogy – and believes injury has prevented the Kazakh from operating at full capacity at T-Mobile Arena.
Lomachenko, who was present on Saturday night, noticed that Golovkin mainly used his left hand for much of the competition – and Loma said FightHype this could be due to an injury to the opposite arm.
“It was a historic battle, very interesting. But I think Golovkin has had problems with his health.”
“The whole fight, he worked using only his left hand.”
“But no one knows – this is boxing.”
The third meeting between Canelo and Golovkin is considered by many online fans to be the least interesting, as the Mexicans won a comfortable unanimous decision against a ‘Triple G’ whose best years look good behind him.
Now, the focus has turned to Canelo and what his next move will be, with a rematch with Dmitry Bivol, a fight of great interest – shared Lomachenko enthusiastically.
“The fight with Bivol is very interesting, very interesting.”
“I think Canelo needs this rematch.”
As for Lomachenko himself, all signs point towards the great Ukrainian winning a shot at the undisputed lightweight championship in the first half of 2023 – providing he passed the fight back against Jamaine Ortiz next month, and the current champion Devin Haney wins rematch with George Kambosos Jr.
