Unbeatable 18-0 heavyweight Stephan Shaw hit the cards on ESPN from the Turning Stone Resort and Casino on Saturday night. His opponent is Efe Ajagba 16-1 hard to hit. The match was scheduled for ten innings. First, however, former Italian Olympic athlete Guido Vianello tried to add another win to his 11-0-1 record by pitting Jonnie Rice 16-6-1 in a heavyweight bout. Ten scheduled rounds.
The first round is a perceptive process for every man, not doing anything memorable. Vianello was able to connect a bit in the second, though Rice was able to use the impressive head movement to keep some of Vianello’s punches out of the way. Vianello made good use of his slot in the third inning.
Vianello continued to control the game in the fourth and fifth innings. However, on the sixth table, Vianello was badly slashed in the left eye. The cut appeared to have come from an overhand strike on the right, however when the ring doctor was called early in the seventh round, the referee said the cut was from a head impact. The match was then stopped and the referees were called in to determine the winner. However, referee Benji Esteves agreed to review the punch before reading the decision. Esteves then declared Rice the winner.
