Arizona Boxing Commission allows Jake Paul-Anderson Silva’s fight to go down as scheduled

In what has proven to be a valuable before-you-talk lesson, the Arizona Boxing Commission gave Jake Paul the green light to fight Anderson Silva Saturday night in Glendale. The highly promoted pay-per-view battle in Showtime was in danger of collapsing on Thursday when the Committee held an emergency meeting to decide if 47-year-old Silva was okay to fight. Silva previously said in an interview that he was knocked down twice during training. Given his age, the comment Silva insists was a joke, causing some to raise eyebrows.
Now that the Committee has met, considered, and weighed in on the matter, former UFC great Silva is free to slip between the ropes to face the social media star turned boxer. professional Paul this weekend. The pompous Paul can breathe a sigh of relief at this point, as his August scheduled fight date in New York had to be canceled for not one but two scheduled opponents – Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr – appear unwilling or unable to actually fulfill their pre-fight obligations (such as appearance and weight).
