Joe Joyce loves the heavyweight legend of Teddy Atlas

Teddy Atlas has had flattering words for British heavyweight Joe Joyce – comparing ‘The Juggernaut’ to one of the all-time great heavyweights.

Talk about him THE FIGHT . podcastAtlas says Joyce’s club power and brute force remind him of ’70s king George Foreman.

“Joyce reminds me of George Foreman. When I said that, a lot of people thought I was crazy.”

“I wonder if they’ve adjusted to that view now and they see what I saw – what I saw.”

“He is big, strong, he is very thoughtful. He’s a worthy puncher, he’s not a nimble puncher, he’s hitting you with a stick. “

Atlas is talking on the back of Joyce’s beautiful number 11order winning round over Joseph Parker in Manchester over the weekendwhere the Olympic silver medalist became the first person to stop Parker in the professional ring.

That performance saw Joyce’s name ranked among the world’s best heavyweights. With unrelenting pressure, a chin and seemingly impregnable strength, he is unlikely to be an easy night for anyone on the team.

Joyce currently holds the WBO Interim world belt, which means he’s guaranteed a spot at all-round champion Oleksandr Usyk or a status upgrade if Usyk decides to vacate the belt.

Tyson Fury has also been praising Joyce over the past week, and even admitted in a recent social media post that Juggernaut could actually be the one to topple him.. With both men signed to Frank Warren, a fight between the two is a real possibility next year.
