An unprecedented number of Canelo Alvarez fans has flooded the Las Vegas area. The reason for their presence is simple, as Alvarez will return to the ring tonight to face WBA lightweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

But while Alvarez’s undying supporters have come out in full force, Jake Paul still believes the weight star’s upcoming journey will be a box office failure.

“Dmitry Bivol?” Paul asked. “Nobody wants to see that fight.”

Despite Paul’s indifference to Bivol’s upcoming bout with Alvarez, the Russian-born man believes he has what it takes to solve one of boxing’s most amusing puzzles.

After failing to enter the ring during his scheduled 2020 calendar year, Bivol made a spectacular comeback in 2021. Winning the light heavyweight title for the first time, was a tougher test than expected. before Craig Richards. While he would eventually claim a decisive unanimous victory, Richards fought Bivol mostly on even terms.

At the end of Bivol’s year, he looked significantly better than Umar Salamov, as he scored in the decisively dissenting victory. With the 31-year-old creating a spotless record across 19 professional competitions, Paul shrugged as he showcased the Russian native’s overall drawing prowess.

Ultimately, Paul believes that Alvarez has two more famous and brilliant boxers who are more than worthy of his time in the ring.

“Fight with (David) Benavidez, ignore Benavidez, ignore (Jermall) Charlo.”

As Paul evaded, both Benavidez and Charlo were offered to Alvarez as part of a fight deal made by Top Boxing Champion Al Haymon. Benavidez, and Charlo for that matter, urged the weight star to face them inside the ring. However, despite their constant appeal and despite Paul’s chastisement, Alvarez chose not to face either foe.

Although initially confused by his decision, both Charlo and Benavidez moved on.

In Benavidez’s case, the two-time former super-middleweight champion will face David Lemieux on May 21, with the winner being awarded the provisional WBC crown. As for Charlo, while he has stated many times that he will eagerly and quickly accept Alvarez’s weight request and face him at 168 pounds, for now, he will remain in the class. middleweight, where he will attempt to defend his prized WBC against Maciej Sulecki on June 18.
