Jarrett Hurd was stopped by Armando Resendiz

Former world champion Jarrett Hurd slipped between the ropes at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California on Saturday night to battle Armando Resendiz in a scheduled 10-round middleweight bout. Hurd 24-2 was cautious in the first while Resendiz 13-1 sought to pressurize. Resendiz continued to melee Hurd in the second round. Indeed, he is the more aggressive of the two boxers.
Hurd fired a shot towards his man in the third inning, while Resendiz was still brilliant. It’s a tough, fast-paced battle all around. Wednesday is a very stressful affair. Both men shot and landed well – but Hurd landed more effective shots. The action continues in the fifth installment, with Resendiz’s output perhaps giving him the edge. Each boxer performed well in the sixth round, but the tempo was still as fast as the previous rounds.
Resendiz looked as if he really took down Hurd in the last minute of the seventh inning, although Hurd certainly played well. Hurd seemed to have little left when Resendiz overpowered him at the end of season eight. Now it’s worth wondering if Hurd can make the final bell. The ninth saw Hurd completely, actively giving his all. However, Resendiz proved too much for him.
The referee showed the ring doctor Hurd at the start of the tenth round. After studying Hurd for a second or two, the doctor had a few words to say: “Stop it.” And that was the end of the war.
