Nissan Australia launches four new products in 18 months

NISSAN has spent a lot of time on an aging product line, but after overhauling its core SUV line in 2022, the brand is continuing to strike out at its product in 2023 and 2024.

The company’s local boss, Adam Paterson, recently confirmed to the media that Nissan Australia is planning to add four new products over the next 18 months. Although so far we know what half of these are, some are still a mystery.

Confirmed for a 2023 launch in Australia is the new version Electronics Qashqai hybrid crossover, an important model for the brand to adopt things like Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid And Hybrid RAV4as 4×4 . Patrol Warrior (end of 2023).

The latter will be a locally developed variant with Melbourne’s Premcar even than more rugged than existing Landcruiser 300 competitor.

Also, it’s not yet clear what the other two launches will take place next year.

While the city size Juke Cross each other received some minor updates As for the 2023 model year, it is understandable that Mr Paterson’s comment does not refer to the ongoing changes currently hitting the Australian market.

Furthermore, it is unclear whether the Juke hybridwas revealed recently for the European and UK markets and is “definitely something” [Nissan Australia] under consideration” for local rollout at some stage, also part of these plans.

Look elsewhere in the brand’s portfolio, all but confirmed Nissan Z Nismo is expected to be revealed at some point this year.

Given Australia’s demand for high-performance cars (standard cars have had to wait 12 months here), we expect a more focused version of the brand’s reborn icon to be a solid start for our marketplace – whenever it launches. .

The company has revealed a GT4 racing version branded ‘Nismo’ and it is conceivable that a road version will soon appear.

Meanwhile, there’s still no word on when we’ll see it Ariya Electric SUVs in Australia are being prioritized for markets with strict emission standards such as Europe, the UK, and the US; although last time we checked Mr. Paterson said the problem is ‘when’ rather than ‘if’.

Furthermore, the Navara ute is nearing the end of its lifespan at this point, although there doesn’t seem to be much information before the next-generation model – which will have close ties to the next Mitsubishi Triton – is revealed.

Nissan also recently launched Navara warrior SL in 2022, a more budget-friendly off-road version will sit underneath the existing Pro-4X Warrior.

It could mean there’s another update in the venerable store Leaf The EV, won’t be replaced until around 2025. Local models currently miss out on the ProPILOT semi-autonomous tech suite available overseas, so perhaps we could see a tech push in the future. Next 12 months to see this generation.

Very, very Uncertain candidate is Nissan Notes city hatch and Kicks crossover, both of which offer e-Power hybrid versions and are sold with right-hand drive to the Japanese market. They will complement the recently launched X-Trail e-Power and the upcoming Qashqai e-Power.

The Nissan Note is one of Japan’s best-selling cars, largely thanks to the e-Power version, while the Kicks is the brand’s only compact SUV option in markets like Japan and the US instead. Juke is British-made. .

Both vehicles were previously confirmed as ‘not for Australia’, but who knows if Nissan Australia will change its mind.
