Four zebras escape from a shipping trailer outside Seattle, Washington, on Sunday en route From farms to petting zoos in Montana, leading police and area residents on a wild chasebased on report from Washington Post. The elaborately staged escape began when The driver noticed a problem with the trailer and towed away for repairs. The group—two mares, a mare, and a stallion—all headed toward the four points of the compass. The horse jumped over the fence and disappeared into the woods.
As luck would have it, a rodeo bullfighter and his wife, a horse trainer, drove down I-90 at just the right time.
“We just happened to be at that exit when [we heard] There are zebras on the loose, so be cautious, said rider David Danton. “That’s very strange.”
“My wife and I read animals very well and we helped capture a lot of free-roaming animals – free-ranging buffalo, racing horses,” he added. “We thought, ‘Okay, let’s go see if we can help.’”
In another strange development, a nearby resident had a large horse-drawn cart that could be used as a handheld pen. The makeshift zebra team used ropes and boards to lure the two mares into the trailer, while the mare was tied separately.
The trio of recaptured striped prisoners were taken to their final destination, the petting zoo, while their fourth group remained a free Equidae. The fugitive, named Z, was last seen at 3pm on Monday afternoon. The community used infrared drones and search and rescue dogs to track him but to no avail. One can hope that the native cougars and bears don’t find him first.
