The Golden Boy Fight Night card was brought down on Thursday at Fantasy Springs in Indio, California. The main event of the DAZN broadcast was the 8-round scheduled lightweight match between Floyd Schofield 11-0 and Daniel Rosas 22-5-1. Junior lightweight Joshua Garcia, 5-0, and Christian Lorenzo, 3-3, fought first, however, in the scheduled fourth round. Garcia started at the beginning, giving his men an outlandish look and landing well with his left hand. Garcia continued to work strongly in the second season. In recognition of his credit, Lorenzo advanced in the third inning, and even landed well. Lorenzo continued to finish with his elder in fourth, although Garcia was sometimes able to land well and maintain distance. The judges unanimously ruled for Garcia.
Next, Anabel Ortiz 32-5 competed with 10-1 Maria Santizo in the scheduled 8-round flyweight flyby match. Ortiz began aggressively pursuing Santizo with her stab. The second match saw Ortiz continue to effectively fire off his stab while also using stinging outrageous punches. In the third round, Santizo performed better by using speed and footwork. However, Ortiz continued to fight aggressively in the fourth inning. In the fifth season, Santizo had her moments. Things remained pretty tight in the sixth while the seventh proved to be high octane. The eighth and final round was action-oriented and thrilling. Ortiz eventually left the ring with a decisive unanimous victory added to her resume.
It’s time for the main event. Schofield immediately went to the body. Then he quickly started working upstairs after that. Continuing to be more aggressive, then, just over half a point in the half, Rosas dropped and was out, before a powerful shot from Schofield left. “It’s all about how you win,” said tit-for-tat legend Bernard Hopkins from the ring. Schofield has really won big and fast fashion.
