Last year, the Met Office made several changes to CET records. I didn’t pay too much attention at the time, as the changes seemed to be minor.
However, when I was writing my review of 2022, I noticed that although the summer of 1995 was 0.1 degrees Celsius warmer than 2018 in the original Version 1, they changed positions during the Session 1. version 2. To be precise, the summer of 1995 was cooled by 0.07C, while 2018 was already warmed by 0.13C.
I have now started analyzing the full data set, and the chart below shows the yearly adjustments made:
A positive number is where the temperature V2 is higher than V1.
As you can see, for most records up until 1970, the adjustments were small and without a clear pattern, the ups and downs offset each other.
Then suddenly the years from 1970 to 2003 cooled down quite clearly. Then, all of a sudden, the temperature was continuously adjusted up again.
There’s no doubt the Met Office will cover this up for some reason, but unfortunately it’s part of a much broader global temperature intervention – and the interference has always been one way, cooling the past and heating the present.
In addition to subtle changes to the overall trend, this falsification shifts the comparison to recent temperatures and the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The summers of 1995 and 2018 are a prime example. With the summer of 1995 cooled by 0.07 degrees Celsius, it is now just as hot as last summer, instead of hotter.
And while we didn’t have a V1 for last summer, it’s safe to assume that V2’s temperature rose in a similar way to 2018, adjusted for 0.13C up.
All of this put the Met Office in a bad shape.
