Apple Watch 7 saved my life: Delhi-based researcher emails Apple CEO; Tim Cook replied

Delhi-based policy researcher Sneha Sinha thanked the Apple Watch 7 for “saving her life” after the heart rate notification feature on the device alerted her to an abnormally high heart rate of more than 250 beats per hour. minute. In interaction with HT TechSneha recalled that she had no pre-existing health conditions and considered herself fit.

Recently, in India, many incidents of fit and healthy young people suffering from sudden heart disease are making headlines and this is why Sneha feels telling her story is important. If the Apple Watch 7 had not been alerted to her condition, it could have been a “dangerous affair.”

“That night, my heart rate spiked to over 250,” said Sneha. “Fortunately, the Apple Watch alerted me in time, allowing me to continuously monitor my heart condition until I was taken to hospital.” Go to the emergency room”.

“If my Apple Watch doesn’t warn me…”

She got it Apple Watch 7 as a gift- “I feel like it’s trendy. Little did I know that it would turn out to be the guardian angel on my wrist that ultimately saved my life.”

“If my Apple Watch hadn’t warned me about my high heart rate and urged me to see a doctor, I probably would have waited until morning to seek medical help. I wouldn’t try to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. Doctors diagnosed me with a type of tachycardia, often caused by stress and anxiety,” she explains.

Sneha’s decision to rush to the hospital after seeing the high heart rate notification really made a difference. She added: “The doctors in the emergency room informed my parents and friends that it was a dangerous situation.

Talking about her health, she said: “I don’t have any pre-existing conditions. As an avid traveler, I hike and trek in mountainous areas above 15,000-16,000 feet, where oxygen levels are often low.”

“When I return home from a normal day, I notice my heart racing and use my Apple Watch to monitor it. Even though I had several tests and an electrocardiogram showed a higher heart rate, I still tried to breathe deeply, hoping that at some point it would subside. I think it might happen for some reason and will calm down soon. I didn’t take it seriously at first. When it persists for more than 1.5 hours, the ECG shows the onset of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). At that time, I decided to go see a doctor and called a friend to take me to the hospital,” she added.

“I found CEO Tim Cook’s email address online to thank Apple”

After the entire episode, Sneha decided to reach out to Apple CEO Tim Cook and the Apple Watch team. “I would like to express my profound gratitude for developing such advanced and accurate heart monitoring features. Apple Watch has proven how innovation and technology can revolutionize healthcare and save lives… I found his email address on the internet,” she said.

“After I shared my story with Tim, within hours he wrote back saying– I’m glad you sought medical attention and received the treatment you needed. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us,” she expressed her joy while sharing a screenshot of the email with HT Tech.
