I can’t stand car merchandise but these Porsche-themed Xboxes have been revamped
I generally try to stay away from non-automotive branded items in my daily life, because they usually 1) tend to be expensive and 2) look bad. But I’ll give it to Porsche for this Xbox partnership, because I think they’ve finally come together to create a product that I won’t be ashamed to wear or display in my home.
Porsche is about to turn 75, as you may have heard. I’m starting to appreciate and look forward to Porsche’s birthdays as much as my own, because it seems like they love to celebrate by giving gifts. we stuff like that Glorious Mission X concept since the beginning of the month, it’s easily the prettiest brown car I’ve ever seen. Less interesting though still really neat is this Xbox Series X console painted in the style of Porsche race cars of yesteryear.
Xbox is making 75 of these with matching controllers for various reasons and giving them away after October 1. You can sign up at This site with your name and email address to potentially receive one. However, here’s the starting point: You can join daily to increase your chances. You’ll be competing with me, so Jalop’s best employee or reader can win.
You can see all five designs here, although most are out of focus. The one in the middle is a new paint color — the same one was given to the 963 at Le Mans two weeks ago. On the other hand, from left to right we have colors inspired by the 917 LH “Hippie”, 911 GT1-98, number 23 “Salzburg” 917 which gave Porsche its first overall victory at Le Mans ; Martini sponsors 935/78 “Moby Dick” and, of course, that poor pink pig. Fun fact: Porsche calls the Martini the “Porsche Racing Edition” because, you know, licensing.
You cannot choose what you want to import because. That said, I would love that Xbox 911 GT1-98, as it was a Porsche Le Mans winner when I was younger and one of my favorite race cars ever. The Xbox Series X really is the perfect platform for these paint jobs, as it’s really a rectangular prism with nothing special. That’s a lot of real estate to wrap with historic racing colors.
