Hyundai Ioniq 6 is World Car of the Year 2023 – Lucid Air, Kia EV6 and Citroen C3 also win awards
Hyundai has done it again. After the Ioniq 5 won World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year awards in 2022The Ioniq 6 repeated that trio in the 2023 World Car awards, giving the Korean automaker its third consecutive win.
First revealed in June 2022the ioniq 6 boasts an unorthodox design and is built on the company’s foundation Global Power Module Platform (E-GMP). Ioniq 6 has been teaser for Malaysia, though it’s unknown when the EV will go on sale here. Available powertrain configurations include two battery capacities (53 and 77.4 kWh) as well as single-motor (RWD) or dual-motor (AWD) setups.
The Ioniq 6 had to beat two other models to win the World Car of the Year category, including the BMW X1/iX1 And Kia Niro as finalists.
