How to Roast Garlic (with an extra recipe!)

Seemingly simple, this dish consisting of savory dishes for vegetables and Italian-inspired dishes has foodies going wild. It’s not clear what made this classic technique trendy again, but the roasted garlic cloves have a delicious aroma and a mellow flavor. Like other alliums, garlic is a good source of prebiotic fiber to feed your gut microbiome, and it also boasts a number of other impressive health benefits. Even if you usually find garlic a bit pungent for your taste, I strongly encourage you to give this recipe a try.

Any of the options above should work! Once you’ve prepared the garlic, place the garlic in a small saucepan and bake in the oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 30 to 45 minutes or until the garlic cloves are tender.

Once done, let the garlic cool for a few minutes, then remove from the paper or inner container. Squeeze the garlic from the bottom so that the cloves squeeze out the top. Squeeze the roasted shrimp into small pieces of ramekin and then use in your favorite recipes.

How to store roasted garlic?

I find that I use roasted garlic right away, so I personally never need to store it. There are concerns about botulism when storing garlic in oil at room temperature, so store oil-soaked garlic in the refrigerator for short-term storage. However, I recommend that if you make more garlic and want to preserve it, it is best to keep it in the freezer.

Simply squeeze out the cloves and place them in a refrigerator-safe jar, or mix them with oil and freeze the mixture in an ice tray.

How to use grilled garlic:

Add roasted garlic to your favorite grilled vegetables, salad dressings or soups. Here are some recipes where you can use roasted garlic. Simply add as much roasted garlic as you like or replace 1 to 2 times the amount of garlic in the recipe with roasted garlic:

Mashed vegetables
Lemon butter chicken

Bonus recipe: Vinaigrette Roasted Garlic

This is a great little salad dressing with grilled garlic. It’s tastier than a massage kale salad and can go well with any salad all year round!

Ingredient:

  • 1 bulb of grilled garlic
  • 2-3 tbsp. olive oil
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon. onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of MSG. Beloved husband
  • Salt and pepper

Direction:

To make this sauce, squeeze the roasted garlic cloves into a small bowl and mix with olive oil. Whip with lemon juice, vinegar, onion powder and honey. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Eat your salad and enjoy!
