How to Customize Your Lightroom Workspace

Lightroom is a very intricate and multilayered program, and while its default layout is perfectly fine for most uses, it can make your workflow both easier and more efficient if you take the time to customize your workspace a bit. This helpful video tutorial features an experienced Lightroom pro showing you how to do just that.

Coming to you from Anthony Morganti, this fantastic video tutorial will show you how to customize your Lightroom workspace. Being a program meant for ingestion and processing of pretty much any kind of photos, Lightroom generally presents every possible feature and tool as close to the top of the interface as possible, and while it is great to have all those capabilities nearby, almost no one routinely makes use of all 50 or so sliders in the Develop module, for example. Taking the time to enable things like solo mode, reorder tabs to keep your most-used options at the top, and disable functions and tabs you do not use will not only make you more efficient, it will make your workflow far more enjoyable and help keep you focused on the creative process rather than tracking down whatever function you need at the moment. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Morganti.
