How long does it take for Bilt Rewards points to be transferred?

Bilt Rewards has developed a reputation as a company that allows you to earn points for paying rent. Bilt Rewards is a relatively new player in the competitive rewards industry, but it has an impressive list of transfer partners, including American Airlines AAdvantage And Hyatt’s World.

You can convert your Bilt score to 14 transfer patterns at a 1:1 ratio. However, knowing how long it takes to transfer points is crucial to planning your redemption.

Spoiler alert: Most transfers are processed super fast.

With other flexible points programs, points transfer can sometimes take several days for selected travel partners. If you see a flight or hotel that you want to book, the bonus space may disappear before the points are deposited into your account. However, this is not an issue with Bilt Rewards.

As you can see, our test transfers showed Bilt points to their destination accounts with partner programs almost instantly — with the exception of American Airlines, it took less than 24 hours. However, the Bilt Rewards app indicates that it “can take up to 72 hours” for your Bilt points to arrive in your AAdvantage account.

Note that when linking Bilt with Virgin, you can choose your Virgin Atlantic account or Virgin Red ID. As a reminder, your Virgin Red account aggregates the Virgin points you’ve earned across all Virgin companies into one account. Unlike most airline programs, your Virgin Red ID is a string of words, not numbers. You can find your Virgin Red ID on your Virgin Red account page, although you may need to link your Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club accounts to access it.

Tips for transferring Bilt . bonus points

It’s important to note that Bilt transfers are one-way, so once you transfer your points, there’s no way to transfer them back to Bilt.

Only a few airline programs, including five of Bilt’s partners, allow you keep the award ticket before booking: Air France-KLM Flying Blue, American Airlines AAdvantage, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club/Virgin Red.

While Bilt points transfer instantly to almost all partners, keep the award ticket It can still be a good idea to make sure the last seat isn’t sold before your score is posted.

You can use ExpertFlyer (owned by TPG’s parent company, Red Ventures) to find bonus space across most carriers. If the flight you want is not available, you may have to reschedule your trip or choose a different route or destination. Remember that reward availability changes frequently, so consider setting an alert about the reward space. That way, you’ll know when the desired seat is available.

Can you transfer your Bilt Rewards points to someone else’s account?

Bilt only allows you to transfer points to your own airline and hotel loyalty accounts – you also cannot transfer points to other Bilt members. However, you can transfer your Bilt points to World of Hyatt and then pass them on to another member (limited).

Meanwhile, some programs — including Aeroplan and Flying Blue — allow family synthesis.

Is there a fee for transferring Bilt bonus points?

You cannot transfer Bilt points to Delta SkyMiles, but you can book Delta rewards through Flying Blue and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. ZACH GRIFF/THE POINT

When transferring points to US-based airlines such as Delta SkyMiles because American Express Membership Rewardsyou may be charged special consumption fee is 0.06 cents per point, capped at $99 in fees. However, Bilt does not have this fee.

However, you should still pay taxes and airline fees when booking award flights.

Which cards earn Bilt Rewards points?

Currently, there is only one card that earns Bilt Rewards points: the card Bill Mastercard®. This annual free card (see rates and fees) ensures you won’t be charged for paying rent by credit card. It also earns the following rewards:

3 points for every dollar when dining out.
2 points per dollar when traveling.
1 point for every dollar of rent (up to 100,000 points per year).
1 point per dollar for all other purchases.

You must use your card at least five times in each statement period to earn points. On the first day of every month (called ) Date of hire), Bilt offers double rewards in all categories except rent.

bottom line

Bilt has cemented its position in the rewarding travel industry with valuable partners such as World of Hyatt and Air Canada Aeroplan. This is also the only point program that converts to American Airlines with a 1:1 ratio.

Our tests show that Bilt has near-instant transfer times to all partners except American Airlines, which can take up to 24 hours to send money. While transfer times can vary from account to account, you can expect an experience similar to ours.
