HIMSSCast: Making Healthcare Cybersecurity Education Really Effective



The Cyberattacks against healthcare providers come and go. The bad guys are after that fascinating patient data, which is worth far more than just some simple credit card.

This is why healthcare CIOs, CISOs, and other security leaders must educate their organization’s employees on how best to combat cyberattacks. But this kind of education really needs to go through and sink in to be effective.

On this podcast, the guests are Tyler Cohen Wood. Tyler is the co-founder of Dark Cryptonite, a cybersecurity and network technology provider that offers what they call Alternet, an Internet alternative that aims to give organizations the privacy they need. and designed to remove threats from ransomware, phishing, and malware.

Tyler is also a deputy divisional commander and senior intelligence officer with the US Defense Intelligence Agency, where she has helped the White House and DoD prevent many threats to US cybersecurity. She has developed and taught cybersecurity awareness training to federal law enforcement, US Special Forces, and other 3-letter agency case officers.

She also serves at Inspired eLearning, where she is their subject matter expert and helps develop all of their cybersecurity awareness training. She has won awards for two of the courses she created.
