Guy Fieri has shared the sad news that his dog, Cowboy, has died


Guy Fieri, a celebrity chef who appeared in many popular shows on Food Network (including Diners, Drive-in & Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games), took to Twitter to share some super sad news about the family.

On Saturday, January 22, the day before his birthday, the longtime animal-loving dad and dog dad publicly announced that his dog Cowboy had died.

Anyone who has ever had the honor of being bonded with an incredible canine companion can empathize with his pain and that of his entire family.

“Today is the saddest day in the Fieri family. Today we lost COWBOY. He is one of a kind and has brought so much love and energy to our family,” his heartfelt post on Twitter.

After he made his announcement, quite a few fans, friends and celebrities commented on his tweet with their condolences. John O’Hurly, actor and ‘s server Philadelphia’s National Dog Show said, “O’Hurley’s shares your sadness. It is a loss of innocence. May God welcome him home.” And Mark Hamill, or Luke from the Star Wars series, commented with a broken heart emoji.

Lots of puppy pictures and cute faces of Shepherd flooded under his post. Many people from all over the internet were quick to send words of comfort. Along with words of love, Guy posted a beautiful photo of Cowboy (shared above). Cowboy looks like a good boy, and from the audio of Guy’s tweets, he’s a beloved member of the family.

Guy is a longtime animal lover and in the past he has shared heartfelt posts on Instagram and Twitter when one of his dogs crosses the rainbow or when he gets another dog. new companion to his herd. Dogs are not just pets, they are family. And, despite his involvement in television, Guy has always been concerned with prioritizing family.

“Family is always the first priority. Most of my friends will [say] I have not changed. I think it’s because when I got into television, I did what I wanted to do. I want to be a great dad,” Guy said in a recent interview.

Along with Guy and his wife Lori, the two sons and grandson he raised after his sister died are all mourning Cowboy’s passing. Rest in peace, sweetie.
