For those unfamiliar, CS stands for Competition Sport, and it’s the second of three optional performance levels that BMW offers on the M4. It sits between the standard Competition (itself an upgrade from the standard M4) and the CSL is super light. The CS’s 3.0-liter inline-six is up 20 horsepower over the M4 Competition, for a total of 543, yet it produces the same 479 pound-feet of torque. BMW says, all told, the CS is about 45 pounds heavier than the standard Competition.
