Goldman Sachs A company spokesperson said it is encouraging eligible US employees to work from home through January 18, as it watches some rivals change plans to return to the office as the pandemic unfolds. Omicron bodies spread.
The spokesperson added that Goldman’s offices will remain open with previously announced Covid-19 safety protocols. Those measures are: vaccine requirements, booster requirements for all eligible populations effective February 1, biweekly checks effective January 10, and vaccination required page.
Financial firms are grappling with when they can truly return to business as usual, as well as how to communicate with employees and retain workers amid uncertainty. Some other banks have asked employees to work remotely due to the spike in cases.
Goldman is one of the Wall Street banks that has gone to great lengths to get employees back into the office, and the last to try to keep most of its employees in the office through the rise of the Omicron variant.
JPMorgan Chase, also among those pushing employees to work from its offices, last week told workers they could stay home for the first two weeks of January. However, JPMorgan said in a memo to employees that all employees are expected to return to the office no later than February 1.
Citigroup A spokesperson for the airline also asked employees to work from home for the first few weeks of 2022 late last month.
