German Shepherd dog squealing with joy after meeting owner for the first time in months
The relationship we share with dogs is truly special. They’re not called “man’s best friend,” for no reason, and sometimes, a dog really feels like a best friend.
Not only do people feel love and friendship for dogs, they also feel strong affection for us. There’s a reason they’re so excited to greet us after a long day at work or even a weekend out!
Sometimes dogs have to be away from their owners for longer periods of time, and that can be quite difficult for all parties involved. However, the reunion that followed makes the wait well worth it!
In a touching video shared on YouTube, you can see a loving German Shepherd named Freya greeting his owner for the first time in months. Despite being apart for so long, Freya is still so excited to be with her father, she runs to him and screams in happiness.
If you’ve ever surrounded a dog excited to see you, it’s likely his eyes are filled with love and there’s research to back it up!
A study published in Borders in Psychology showed that when dogs see their owners smile, it actually helps them release oxytocin – the happy hormone.
No wonder they are so excited to see us, we make them happy just like they make us happy!
For Freya, perhaps a lot of time has passed, but it is clear that she has not lost the love she has for her master.
