Genesis GV70 EV launched with AWD, good looks of petrol version

Guanghzou Auto Show in China is serving as the launch point for the new electric Genesis GV70. Of course, we were watched and drove the standard petrol GV70 here in the US, but now there is a version with the battery Packing and coupling of electric motor.

Fully electric for GV70 did lead to a few design changes, but nothing too drastic. Genesis calls this version of the grille an “aero top,” as it features an inverted G-matrix motif and also incorporates a hidden charging port. Most of the design of the regular GV70 goes from the scooter, but the electric version gets a new rear bumper, as it doesn’t have any exhaust that needs to come out. And that’s it for the big changes. We’ve loved the design of the GV70 before, so it’s great to see that it retains nearly all of the appealing design elements.

As for the critical specs, the Genesis is struggling right now. It says no specs for the cars coming from North America are final, but we do have a few numbers to ponder. For one, the electric GV70 is expected to have four-wheel drive only and will sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds when you use “Boost mode.” Charging will also be very quick, as it will be capable of 350 kW fast charging. This will let you charge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes, assuming you can find a charger with that speed.

Electricity Genesis GV70

Genesis provided an interior photo for us, and it appears to be a carbon copy of the gas-powered GV70 – again, that’s a good thing. It’s said to include some eco-friendly material finishes, but Genesis doesn’t detail what’s in its release. Either way, you should respect luxury, as the electric GV70 features active noise cancellation and a preview Electronic Control Suspension that uses the camera to gather information about the road ahead. first, then automatically adjusts the dampers for the smoothest ride possible. Similar to other electric vehicles of Hyundai Group, this has a 3.6 kW vehicle load feature that allows you to plug in a wide range of appliances and household items and power them through your car.

Final specifications and more information will have to wait for the launch of the electric GV70 in the US. However, Genesis doesn’t say when it will be available, so we don’t know when this GV70 will go on sale here, nor do we know when its price will be.
