Synthetic engine Temporarily stop taking orders for vans and SUVs equipped with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel six-cylinder in August 2021 due to a lack of suppliers. Reports say the pause will last until 2021, but the engine has already returned to production.
Enthusiastic site GM agency learned from sources inside General Motors that the six inline cars were once again off the assembly line at the Flint Engine Plant in Flint, Michigan. There is no official word on exactly what problem is associated with and whether it is related to lack of chips that is wreaking havoc on the auto industry. All we know is that the pause lasted about two weeks.
Called LM2 internally, six are available in Chevrolet’s Tahoe, Suburban, and Silverado 1500 and in By GMC versions of these trucks. It is also an option in Cadillac Escalade. It develops 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and the same 460 pound-feet of torque as the V8 at 1,500 rpm in every application, and it allows these giant behemoths to surprise energy saving the numbers.
