CarExpert car color can’t have enough

What color is your car?

Statistics say it can be something as boring as white, black, or gray. According to research from Friend A sad figure is that 50% of new cars in Australia are white or silver, and almost 80% are white, silver, black, gray or blue. Yawn.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom. Automakers are increasingly trying to stand out from the crowd by offering a wide variety of paint colors. Most high-end brands will also do your independent coloring, as long as you’re willing to pay.

Here are the catchy colors auto expert eye of the group at this point.

Gray for me!

My Raptor comes in Conquer Gray and our Model Y comes in any of the gray variations Tesla offers.

It hides dirt and any scratches nicely, making it easy to keep clean.

I’m happy to see green back – green on the Isle of Man at BMW is a favorite – and happy to see brown popping all around even if it seems like I’m the only one who likes the car. brown.

However, my absolute favorite color at the moment is the elaborately named Thundernight Metallic offered on the BMW 2 Series.

Purple is very rare in this post-Ford Falcon era. From memory, the Aussie sedan was available in four different purple colors on the BA and BF generations and one of them, Phantom, was the color of the first car I ever bought: a BA XR6 manual.

So I have an emotional attachment to purple cars and it’s just a foot away from my favorite color, indigo.

Okay, so I love purple and bright colors on Porsche 911s in particular. So if I order a new 911 it will come in Shark Blue for the GT3 or Carmine Red for the GTS.

But if you want my all-time favorite 911 color, it’s the Harlequin 1995 GT2 Evo.

BMW is selling the Daytona Violet on its all-new M3 Touring, which is absolutely the ticket. Gray and white need to be properly banned.

I have to agree with Paul on this…

Skoda and Audi used to make this gray version on a number of models, but I haven’t seen it return to 2023.

In my opinion, Cupra Leon’s Graphene Gray premium metal is the perfect gray.

Scott Collie

There’s a lot of purple and green in this list, so I’ll take some Coldplay and throw yellow into the mix.

Porsche has Signal Yellow and Mercedes-Benz has Solar Beam Yellow, but for me, they’re a bit flat against Audi’s latest Python Yellow.

It’s a bit lighter than most other yellows out on the market and seems tailored to contrast the aggressive blacks or carbon bits expected on today’s European super-tanks.

While there are several other bright colors in the Audi palette, this one is unique. A red RS3 reminds me of a Golf GTI and Turbo Blue is approaching Hyundai N territory, but I can’t think of many iconic, modern vehicles in yellow.

As the OG Green Man here, it makes sense for me to also choose a shade of my beloved verde…

I will never forget seeing the press images for Peugeot Green Olive on the current Hatch 308 for the first time, it’s a gorgeous color.

Afterward I saw it firsthand when I did the media premiere for 308 Hatch and SW late last year, and I love it even more.
It has great depth and shine, really playing with the light and caressing the curves of the 308 Hatch beautifully. Plus, it matches the green accents inside the GT models – if only it were offered on the wagon.

To be fair, Peugeot is making great colors across the board, from bright blues and oranges to deep reds and bronzes. Magnificent Tres…

If I had to pick my favorite exterior paint color on the market right now, I really couldn’t beat Skoda’s Mamba Green. It’s bright, loud, and really stands out on the road.

In Australia, you can get the Mamba Green on the sporty Skoda Octavia RS in both liftback and wagon form. Better yet, it’s actually a standard color meaning you don’t have to pay extra for it.

In addition to the Octavia RS, the Mamba Green is now also available on the Enyaq iV RS. At this stage, Skoda Australia says it is committed to offering both Enyaq iV SUV bodywork and SUV coupe locally, but it is too early to say which variants will arrive here. This includes RS variants.

While Mamba Green is currently my favorite exterior paint color on the market, it’s not necessarily my choice.

What I wanted to choose instead was Skoda’s Phoenix Orange metallic available on the Karoq SUV. It reminds me of my 2013 Holden Trax, my first car, and has a soft spot in my heart.

What is your favorite modern car color?
