Woodbine kicks off its 129 days of racing on April 27


Woodbine Entertainment is set to kick off the 2024 Thoroughbred racing season on April 27 at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario.

The 2024 season at Woodbine will include 129 days of racing and run through Sunday, December 15. The first two weeks of the meet will feature racing held on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s opening day card will feature ten races and include a $125,000 Star Shooter Stakes. Fans will want to arrive early on Saturday to receive a free Woodbine travel mug. Fans are entitled to one cup each. Posting time is 1:10 pm

The new season is highlighted by the 165th running of The King’s Plate on Saturday, August 17. Turf Championship Day on Saturday, September 14 will attract the attention of the racing world on Woodbine, with four Class One events on the card, including the Woodbine Mile.

Woodbine will add Fridays to the racing schedule on May 10 and then add twilight races on Thursdays starting May 23.

Posting time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be 1:10 p.m., and on Thursday card distribution will begin at 4:50 p.m.
