Fury-Wilder 4 is now a realistic possibility
Tyson Fury will most likely face Deontay Wilder again – despite clashes with Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.
The WBC The heavyweight champion delivered a sensational take on his fellow Brit earlier this week.
Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) was originally intended take on Oleksandr Usyk for every title in the top division of the sport.
But the Ukrainian chose not to fight this side at Christmas, citing the need to rest after being injured in his win over ‘AJ’ last month.
Usyk won Fury’s old Ring Magazine title in a rematch with Joshua at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia as he successfully held on to his previous WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBO world titles call out ‘King of Gypsy’.
Fury accepted and it looked like the fight would head to the Middle East in December, but after Usyk made the decision to leave until 2023, Joshua was recommended by Fury to win the WBC belt with a score of 60-40.
Meanwhile, WBC reveals that Andy Ruiz is in pole position to fight the winner Return of Deontay Wilder against Robert Helenius.
The ‘Bronze Bomber’ meets Helenius of Finland on October 15 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and a win will ensure a showdown with the former Mexican-based united world heavyweight champion Mexico. in California after a win over Luis Ortiz last weekend.
The pair will then meet in a punishing final elimination bout – with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger to Tyson Fury.
‼️ WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has now clarified that Andy Ruiz Jr vs Luis Ortiz is a “semi-final tie” and so is Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius on October 15. Ruiz Jr vs Wilder / Helenius will be the final elimination match to determine Tyson Fury’s next spot. [@LopezDoriga]

If Wilder outsmarts both Helenius and Ruiz then the real possibility is that he could face Fury a fourth time. Their first contest ended in a controversial draw, with most believing the Briton did enough to raise their hands – while games two and three both ended in a convincing stoppage-time victory for Tyson.
The WBC also went on to say that Fury could voluntarily defend, after beating Dillian Whyte in a forced match in April at Wembley Stadium in London.
The sanctioning body’s president Mauricio Sulaiman believes a fight against Joshua could also be the answer, having labeled it ‘interesting’.
Sulaiman, when talking to Sports skyspeak:
“Fury implemented his mandatory defense in April. He is in the voluntary phase and the WBC will determine all duties of all divisions at the congress in Acapulco in November.
“WBC sanctioned those two matches [between Wilder and Helenius and Ruiz Jr’s defeat of Luis Ortiz] and the Council will consider each section [in November].
“The WBC cannot force such a fight, that would be against the rules and against the rights of champion Fury.
“Fury vs. Joshua will always be an interesting match, especially for Great Britain.”
Sulaiman continues to nail his color to the mast on the list of the best British heavyweights.
“Fury is definitely the best heavyweight right now and is at his peak.”
