Ford says production will increase to meet demand for hot models

Ford There’s been a slew of extremely intriguing car versions over the past few years, from Mustang Mach-E arrive Maverick pickup truck arrive Lightning F-150. That’s good news. The bad news, at least for Ford and its buyers, is The Blue Oval can’t seem to keep up with need. That could change with Ford’s recent announcement to increase production, bringing additional shifts and increasing numbers to the automaker’s electric models.

Ford said it will increase production numbers at its locations across North America and noted a new shift at the Kansas City Assembly Plant to increase E-Transit production. It is also looking to increase production at the Dearborn Truck Plant, where it builds F-150.

Although it recently stopped production at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center due to an F-150 Lightning battery problem, Ford recently Reboot notification to the factory and said it is investing $2 billion to boost production truck. The move will also bring 3,200 more union jobs to the site.

The Sports Bronco And Maverick will see production increase to more than 80,000 units by 2023, and the Mustang Mach-E will increase to 210,000 units by the end of the year. Both Transit variants, petrol and electric, will increase in price, and Ford said it will invest $95 million to create 1,100 jobs and increase production by 38,000.

This is good news for Ford buyers and should take some of the pressure off the automaker’s ordering and ordering process, but it’s exciting to watch this announcement now. The F-150 Lightning has been out for almost a year and there’s still a long waiting list to get one. The same is true for the Maverick, and late last year we discovered that some Mach-E variants had standby times that extended to six months or more.

While waiting every month for a new car frustratingly, the challenges weren’t a big hit to Ford’s sales. The automaker reports that it is the number one selling brand in the US and (unsurprisingly) notes that it retains the title of top truck manufacturer. Its electric vehicle sales also increased 68%, showing that long waits have not deterred buyers.
